The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon air intake which is designed to dramatically reduce air flow restriction as it smoothes and straightens air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine's RPM range. The 69-7079TS air intake comes with a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through the intake tube into the engine's throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube has an attractive silver powder-coat finish that's made to last and it accommodates the factory mass air sensor and fresh air intake tube. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. The 2JR V1 MR16DDT Hard-Pipe Kit for the 2011-2014 Juke and RS consists of mandrel pipes made from aluminum tubing on both the cold side and hot side of the intercooler. The 2JR CAI can be converted to a Short Ram in minutes for the winter/weather issues. You can also add the K&N Filter sock to keep your filter clean and dry. Additionally - our intake does not require the adapter pipe to the turbo - its already part of the SRI! No additional piping required. For the CAI, our intake relocates the filter outside of the engine compartment to deliver cool air inlet temperatures. Cooler air carries more oxygen, which translates into a more intense explosion in the combustion chamber to create more horsepower and torque. But that's only part of the power equation. Tuning the inlet pipe in length and diameter to match the engine's resonance helps move more air to the cylinders (think of your engine as a big air pump), and this tuning allows us to deliver large power gains.
