Most intakes place the air filter behind the stock fans to pull heated air directly into the engine (after being heated again by the compression of the turbo). 2JR places the filter inside the cowl, where it only receives ambient cold air from beneath the windshield - in a very high pressure area (another benefit). NOTE - this intake IS LOUD. To us tho, it sounds amazing. Please refer to the "production photos" listed to the left of the final version of the intake. You will lose your sound symposer - you do not need a block off plate (you can just remove the tube). The 2JR Cowl intake does include the provision for the EVAP hardline. Its completely plug and play - the OEM hardline clips in to our machined fitting - we have an extension hose that connects to the cowl intake. Same for the IAT sensor - instead of the silly grommet ours is a machined fitting the sensor rotates into - just like stock. So it'll never come lose or leak. - Install time - 2 hours. A tune is not required. - In testing we saw ambient or just a deg or two below ambient during cruising and slight increases under heavy load. - To install you will need to cut the lower plastic housing under the cowl (very easy) and the upper cowl vent panel (we will provide a template for the vent panel) - you will also need to extend your IAT wires (2 of them) by 36" or purchase the optional JMS IAT Extension. All other hoses, clamps and K&N Air Filter are included in the kit. - Made in the USA for perfect fitment and quality. NOTE: The intake filter sits suspended in the cowl (not resting on the floor). The was done to prevent any water from being pulled in the intake that may build up on the cowl floor. We do recommend the optional KN filter sock to help keep the filter extra dry - as the piping turns down very close the the plastic upper cowl seal at the windshield. For added security you could trim the upper cowl to act as a bit of flashing to help offset any water intrusion. In testing, we didn't incur any issues during heavy rains - but you should always maintain the highest precaution against this occurring in your neck of the woods. FINAL NOTE: JMS made for us the IAT extension harness. If you dont want to add 36" to your stock IAT harness (2 or 4 wires need to be extended) add this JMS harness in the options.     Kinetix Racing Velocity Intake Manifold for Nissan/Infiniti VQ35DE We took the very popular SSV manifold and went over every aspect of its design to make the most impactful improvements. As our customers and the 350z/g35 marketplace continue to improve the power potential of their engines, the SSV needed a redesign to accommodate the the higher power output of these vehicles. The new Velocity Manifold is geared for higher flow and higher RPM power gains. This allows for even larger power gains in the many F/I vehicles out there. The new Velocity Plenum design maximizes flow to the furthest cylinders by creating a "venturi" effect. By gradually narrowing the plenum chamber, the air speed must increase to satisfy the equation of continuity. Improved flow to all cylinders also means an improved smoother A/F curve that requires less tuning in F/I applications, and near ZERO tuning in N/A vehicles. This manifold is constructed entirely of Stainless Steel, then polished out for an absolute beautiful finished product that looks as great as it performs. We chose stainless because of its great thermal properties, conducting 10X!! less heat than aluminum and eliminating much of the manifold's mass, which greatly helps with heat soak. Stainless is considerably more expensive than aluminum, but the finish shines brighter and longer. The overall manifold SAVES 10lbs of weight over stock! Precision TIG welding throughout, and a CNC cut 3/8" main flange. All mandrel bent runners and charge tube, this manifold rivals the quality of other intakes twice its price. We improved greatly upon the factory plenum designs. The factory lower plenum has many dips and turns which do not promote good airflow and creates turbulence inside your factory intake. We developed a straight shot design, eliminating the twists, turns, and obstructions. We then took each runner and also added velocity stack inlets to each individual runner for even better performance. This Manifold is a DIRECT replacement and will work with any aftermarket intake. It also allows you the ability to use the factory strut bar, or any aftermarket strut bar. We also have available an engine cover specifically designed for our manifold. We recommend an A/F tuning on Forced Induction vehicles (turbo and supercharged) after installation of the Velocity Manifold in order to maximize power and overall engine reliability. Tuning is generally not needed in Naturally Aspirated (N/A) applications. Each manifold is supplied with all necessary hardware and instructions.
